Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated SQL Server Database Administrator to support and maintain all applications and SQL Server environments. The ideal candidate will collaborate with database administrators, developers, and infrastructure teams to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of critical database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019 databases
• Install, configure, and upgrade database software and infrastructure
• Design, review, and optimize logical and physical data models
• Support all phases of the application development lifecycle
• Perform data analysis, corrections, and migrations across systems
• Optimize and migrate stored procedures to improve performance
• Develop and maintain SSIS packages and automate tasks using PowerShell scripts
• Monitor database performance, tune queries, and manage storage utilization
• Ensure data security, integrity, and appropriate user access controls
• Manage database backup and recovery procedures
• Use Azure DevOps for source control, documentation, and project tracking
• Communicate effectively with team members, application leads, and project managers
• Provide status updates and proactively identify potential issues
• Represent the DBA team in meetings as needed
• Stay current with new SQL Server technologies and recommend improvements
• Serve as backup to the Chief of Database Administration when required

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in SQL Server administration and support
• Strong understanding of database structures, security, and performance tuning
• Proficient in SSIS, PowerShell scripting, and data migration methods
• Experience with Azure DevOps or equivalent tools for version control and project management
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience managing large, complex database environments is highly preferred
