Overview of Position:

 

We at Appellation are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Specialist to support the technology infrastructure across our growing portfolio of properties. This role is essential in ensuring seamless digital operations, secure data environments, and responsive tech support for both team members and guests. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver with a passion for hospitality and a strong understanding of hotel technology systems. 

 

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • I nstall, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems across hotel properties. 
  • Provide technical support to staff and troubleshoot issues related to networks, POS systems, guest Wi-Fi, and AV equipment using an internal ticketing system. 
  • Manage user accou nts, permissions, and security protocols in accordance with company policies. 
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors for system integration and support. 
  • Lead the relationship with our third-party IT vendors to provide best-in-class team member and guest IT support. 
  • Facilitate all hardware, software, and networking purchases as needed by the resort within the budgeted project scope. 
  • Manage IT projects such as software implementations, hardware installations, and network configurations. 
  • Utilize project management tools to keep stakeholders informed and to ensure project milestones are met on time. 
  • Ensure data security and compliance with privacy regulations. 
  • Assist in the rollout of new technology initiatives, including property management systems (PMS), culinary tech, and guest experience platforms. 
  • Maintain documentation of IT procedures, configurations, and support logs. 
  • Maintain internal software/hardware inventory systems 
  • Validate all data mapping to ensure resort technologies ar e properly integrated and reporting data from guest transaction through to the general ledger
  • Suggest IT capital improvements and maintain a 5-year Capital Expenditure (CapEx) plan for technologies 
  • Review vendor contracts for accuracy and make recommendations to the Director of Finance and General Manager (GM) 
  • Analyze financial data and present both vendor and technology recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team 
  • Update Operating Expense and Contracts workbooks as a source record of all IT vendors and spend such as software, hardware, networking, and technology services. 

 

 

Skills & Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 3+ years of IT support experience, preferably in the hospitality industry. 
  • Proficiency with Windows and Office Suite products, networking, and cloud-based systems. 
  • Familiarity with hotel systems such as PMS, POS, and AV setups is a plus. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Willingness to travel to other Appellation properties as needed. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Enter data into a computer terminal, operate standard office equipment, and use telephone 
  • See and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without vision aids 
  • Hear and understand speech at normal levels and on the telephone 
  • Speak so that others may understand at normal levels and on the telephone 
  • Constant: sitting, standing and repetitive use of hands, arms, and legs 
  • Frequent: typing, use of mouse, bending of neck, climbing stairs 
  • Occasional: twisting of neck 

You must have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stoop, and reach; lift and carry equipment and supplies; walking daily up and down the stairs and sitting for periods up to 4 hours and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with or without reasonable accommodations.
