Job Description

Bookkeeper Position

PrideStaff, a firm specializing in recruiting, is actively looking for a reliable and ambitious Bookkeeper/Accountant for a local company in Fort Myers, FL. Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM. Pay Range: $25 - 28/hr DOE. Location: Fort Myers, FL. Experience: 2+ Years.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the company's accounting system
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely manner
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
  • Prepare and process payroll, including tax payments and reporting
  • Generate and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
  • Maintain an organized filing system for financial documents and records
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial data collection
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures
  • Handle tax-related tasks and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Respond to financial inquiries from management, auditors, and other stakeholders
  • Participate in the improvement of financial processes and systems
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as needed

Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial calculations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling financial information
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and tax regulations
  • Adaptability to learn new software and systems as needed
